My colours
Black
Meditating…
I thought how much BLACK has been important for you…
Initially mixed with other colours that created cold, rarefied atmosphe-res…
To a soul that demanded but wanted to maintain the hope for a flare, a horizon…
Then I think about the painting “Risalita” [The Way Back Up], complete-ly black with a small white dot,
An important painting for you, who declared your black to the world, which, just the same, was accompanied by a small but intensely white, purely white dot, almost material, out of the paint tube.
From then on, your light, your colours, always mixed, rarely pure, your black, have gone hand in hand: not being afraid of one another, not hur-ting one another, never overlapping-
This interestingly complete journey brought you to name your two last exhibits “In compagnia di una luce” [In the company of a light] and “Il buio vive?” [The dark lives?].
From personal creations they have become art pieces observed by many people, in exhibits and galleries, an art student wrote her thesis on the painting “The dark lives”, everyone has identified and “seen” themsel-ves in the dark.
Your painting is the metaphor of your life choices, where you try to overcome your fears and you invite yourself to hope, to dream, to create, embracing even your black and inviting us to do so with affection.
